Burns Night Ceilidh Raises £2,550 for The Rosemary Foundation

Our long-standing Burns Night celebrations at The Half Moon in Sheet truly moved up a gear this year, raising an impressive £2,550 for The Rosemary Foundation.

This year’s programme expanded to include three events, with the newly added Burns Lunch proving a wonderful and welcome addition. Particularly popular with families, it broadened the appeal of our celebrations while keeping the spirit of Burns firmly at the heart of the festivities.

The events were brought to life with ceilidh dancing led once again by our magnificent caller Liz Scholey, who was expertly supported by a talented musical duo on guitar and violin. Guests were welcomed in true Scottish style by a piper, before enjoying a theatrical parade of the haggis, complete with a rousing toast presented by Martin Brown. After a delicious 2 course Burns meal prepared and served by The Half Moon chefs, the dancing carried on with a rousing finish of Auld Lang Syne.

Excellent ticket sales, combined with the remarkable generosity of our guests in the raffle, mean we are delighted to be able to pass £2,550 directly to The Rosemary Foundation. This represents a significant increase on last year’s total and provides a fantastic start to our 2026 fundraising efforts.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended, our sponsors Hector’s Clothing, our other raffle prize donors, our performers and helpers all of which helped make this year’s Burns celebrations such a memorable success.
