The Big Hoedown – Petersfield Barn Dance
Back by popular demand — and moving to a bigger venue!
Pull on your dancing boots and join us for The Big Hoedown, a lively evening of barn dancing, party line dancing, live music and great food at The Festival Hall, Petersfield.
Following the success of last year’s event, The Big Hoedown is back for 2026 — this time in a bigger Petersfield venue, with a larger dance floor and even more room to get involved.
Whether you already know your way around a barn dance or have never attempted a step in your life, everyone is welcome. The evening is fully hosted, the dances are explained as we go, and absolutely no previous dancing experience is needed.
Barn Dancing and Party Line Dancing
The Big Hoedown brings together two brilliantly sociable styles of dancing:
Traditional barn dancing – lively group and partner dances, guided throughout so that everyone can join in.
Party line dancing – fun, accessible routines danced together, with the steps demonstrated before the music begins.
You do not need to bring a dance partner and you certainly do not need to be an expert. Just bring a willingness to have a go!
There will be plenty of guidance throughout the evening, making this an ideal night out for groups of friends, couples, families, work colleagues and anyone looking for something a little different to do in Petersfield.
Live Music and a Ploughman’s Supper
A live band will provide the soundtrack to the evening, creating the atmosphere of a proper country hoedown in the heart of Petersfield.
Your £21 ticket includes the full evening of entertainment and a Ploughman’s supper, giving you everything you need for a fantastic night out under one roof.
